"The news release from the United States Attorney's Office of the Western District of Missouri states that Thomas Christopher Ross, from Joplin, Missouri, won the Republican primary last month for House District 161.
"On Thursday, July 30, the FBI was contacted by Joplin Police on a "public corruption" matter in Joplin. Police told federal authorities that the former campaign manager for Ross was asked by Ross to plant drugs on his opponent."
