Show-Me Better Argument Against 2026 MAGA Redistricting

Real talk . . . TKC is not a lawyer . . . However . . . This election cycle voters across the nations are earning a crash course in election law by way of a massive push to prevent a blue wave from making Prez Trump into a lame duck for the last two years of his term. 

As we noted previously . . . 

We think State Senator Rick Brattin has the better argument against redistricting at this point because of the confusion caused by SecState Hoskins and his power move that didn't stand up to scrutiny of the Republican majority Missouri State Supreme Court. 

In our opinion, Brattin argues against disenfranchisement and the chaotic hot mess of the midterm elections. Meanwhile SecState Hoskins and AG Hanaway merely seek to enforce their unilateral actions that ignored over 300K Missouri voters. Essentially, State Senator Brattin and those who signed onto his lawsuit are victims of the SecState's misstep. 

Caveat . . . Mr. Brattin & Co. might fall under the SCOTUS ruling that will most likely decline to hear the Missouri appeal thereby, by way of Supremacy Clause, could ultimately nullify their complaints.

Again, TKC is not a lawyer and cannot fix ur tickets.

"The suit states that Rep. Bob Onder, R-Mo. and Missouri Sen. Rick Brattin, R-District 31 won nominations from particular voters in HB1-designated districts, and now the two will run in districts with voters they didn't campaign to in the primary election.

"It also states that the two voters in the suit, will have to "educate themselves about new candidates and issues because they are forced to vote in the general election" in a different district than the two voted in for the primary.

"The two counties Thomas and Havens vote in fall in the Fifth Congressional District under HB1, but with the Missouri Supreme Court's decision Thursday, the two will vote in the Third Congressional District.

" 'The entire state of Missouri has now been plunged into legal and electoral uncertainty over which congressional maps govern Missouri’s 2026 general election and which candidates represent whom. This court should issue all appropriate relief without haste to ensure free and fair elections in November,' the lawsuit said.

"The lawsuit seeks a judgement that Thursday's actions were unlawful, and that state's failure to use the HB1 maps is unconstitutional."
