Should Missouri Senator Schmitt Admit FAIL In Jack Smith Fight?!?

Let's start with an acknowledgement that voters have suffered constant "misstatements" from politicos throughout the ages . . . 

Turns out former Prez Bubba did, in fact, have a great deal of fun time with Monica Lewinsky. 

The only "yellow cake" WMD that former Prez Bush found in Iraq was probably a pastry.

Prez Obama wasn't around when we found out we COULD NOT keep our doctor. 

Prez Biden's napping interfered with his promise to cancel student loan debt.

And sorry, Mexico didn't pay for that wall and this doesn't exactly seem like "an American Golden Age" that was promised. 

Accordingly . . . 

ONLY RIGHT-WING KOOL-AID DRINKERS WON'T ADMIT THAT SENATOR SCHMITT SUFFERED HUGE FAIL OVER HIS HAWKS VS. HAWKEYES CONFUSION!!!

BUT LIFE GOES ON!!!

There might be a lot of reasons why Senator Schmitt was entitled to the "dirtbag" trash talk but Caitlin Clark fandom wasn't one of them.    

Allow us a quick conspiracy theory . . . Because we know the Senator is actually a very smart & savvy elected official, we're guessing that he got his info from a trusted source who was incorrect but might be far too scary to question or call out . . . Therefore, we're getting a preview of how these midterms are gonna go from the people who are REALLY in charge. 

But I digress . . .  

The real question we want to ask to our conservative friends in good faith is this: 

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY FOR SENATOR SCHMITT TO MOVE FORWARD?!?

DOESN'T THE DOUBLE DOWN CREATE EVEN MORE DISTRUST OF GOP MIDTERM SUPPORT FOR MAGA???

We've already stipulated that both sides are mostly full of it . . . But, we ask TKC denizens to forgive our eternal optimism that sees this as an opportunity the challenge politics as usual.

In the conservative podcast world, however, Schmitt has championed the interaction, while other since-deleted posts from conservative media initially celebrated an exchange apparently flagged for them in advance.

Schmitt discussed the exchange during an appearance on “The Charlie Kirk Show,” which included a recap based almost entirely on snippets of the senator speaking and did not show Smith denying his attendance at the Atlanta game. Schmitt briefly mentions Smith “claimed” he was at another game but stressed the Hawks game was the only professional match happening in Atlanta.

Conservative influencer Benny Johnson posted — then deleted — a post saying Schmitt “just CAUGHT Jack Smith perjuring himself” and said the senator “pulled out the receipts.”

Screenshots are circulating indicating Fox News host Sean Hannity also deleted a social post saying Schmitt “puts Smith on the spot” during the hearing.

Sen. Eric Schmitt expressed no remorse Wednesday for falsely accusing Jack Smith of lying to Congress about attending a basketball game as a guise to investigate President Donald Trump — and for creating a viral moment that critics have seized on to undercut the GOP’s case against the former special counsel.

Schmitt said in an interview Wednesday that the mix-up was due to the fact that there were no other NBA games that same night with a 7:30 p.m. starting time.

“Well, we had text messages from [Smith’s] team that he was at a basketball game, and the only game at 7:30 tip-off in the NBA was in Atlanta,” Schmitt said, adding, “I didn’t know he was a Caitlin Clark fan. Now we know.”
