"The ¼-cent special purpose tax, which the county’s Board of Commissioners endorsed Aug. 20, would initially generate approximately $12 million annually and last for 10 years. With inflation, said Alan Howze, interim county administrator, the tax could bring in nearly $140 million to fund health-related needs over the decade."
