RAISING PROPERTY TAXES IN THIS ECONOMY IS A CAREER ENDING MOVE FOR ANY KANSAS CITY ELECTED OFFICIAL!!!
That's just a fact of life and a political consequence wherein we don't think we'll get a lot of disagreement.
Accordingly . . .

"Kansas City wants to slightly increase property tax rates to account for a decrease in revenue stemming from falling property values this year.
"City staff said the slight increase would add about $5 million of revenue to help cover the city's approved budget for the 2027 fiscal year, which originally included a flat tax rate.
"The 4-cent rate hike would amount to $7.83 for every $100,000 of property value. So a resident who owns a $200,000 home would see an increase of $15.66 to the city portion of their property tax bill."
