Remembering Charlie Kirk 2026

In Kansas City neither this story nor today's tragic anniversary is getting any play but it's worth considering. 

Here's context in what is hopefully a respectful way we want to mention this . . .  

Turning Point USA CEO and co-founder Charlie Kirk once said, "I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that — it does a lot of damage."

Kirk's remarks, delivered during an episode of "The Charlie Kirk Show" on Oct. 12, 2022, also included him saying he thought of empathy as "very effective when it comes to politics" and that he preferred sympathy over empathy. 

However . . .

It was this comment and the conversation around it that inspired TKC to avoid so much really nasty conversation or keyboard warrior calls to civil war and instead we hopefully took to heart a simple fact that never before came thorough in our writing of this blog . . . 

A lot of people loved & admired the guy and IT'S OKAY TO RESPECT SOMEONE'S FEELINGS even if you disagree.  

In the time since Charlie Kirk's assassination . . . This widespread social media response also merits just a moment of consideration . . . 

“Kirkification” is an internet meme trend where Charlie Kirk’s face is digitally edited onto celebrities, historical figures, fictional characters, animals, and everyday objects using Photoshop and AI image tools. The format quickly became recognizable for its exaggerated edits and absurd humor, spreading rapidly across TikTok, X, Instagram, and Reddit as thousands of users created increasingly elaborate variations.

We stumbled upon this explanation of "Kirkification" that we might not agree with but would like to share if only to consider and recongnize alternative opinions . . . Which is the whole point of this blog.

And all of this leads us to smarter perspectives that we hope our readers also consider . . .
