"Drivers on one of the busiest highways in Overland Park will need to be cognizant of their speeds as police begin a targeted enforcement initiative this week.

"Overland Park Police said they started a targeted traffic enforcement initiative on I-435 from Metcalf Avenue west to the city’s western border.

"Police said the initiative was the result of “surging traffic volumes during rush hours” which have led to a spike in collisions."
