"What initially appeared to be a straightforward ownership change at one of Olathe’s longest-running bowling centers has taken a much more complicated — and very public — turn.

"Mission Bowl, at 1020 S. Weaver Street, has been sold to Let’s Roll, an owner-operated bowling company that says it plans to continue operating the center and invest in the property for the long term.

"But behind the sale is a story that had not yet been publicly told in full: an attempted $400,000 purchase by members of the O’Donnell family, claims that they did not want to leave, a dramatic final day and a photo apparently showing one of them being escorted from the building by Olathe Police.

"Cynthia Thomas, daughter of longtime Mission Bowl owners Mike and Beverly O’Donnell, has posted a series of public messages describing an ending that was anything but routine.

"In one post, Thomas shared a photo that appears to show her being escorted from the bowling center by Olathe Police."
