Once again we take a moment to remind readers the suburban good life isn't all that it's cracked up to be as more American fear we're entering a new age of scarcity . . . At least at the low-end.
Check the bad news about budgeting from a formerly ritzy school district that now struggles to keep up with rising demand . . . Check-it:
"The Lee's Summit School District is projecting a $7 to $10 million loss this school year, and that means the school board must decide whether to raise property taxes or cut up to 200 jobs.
"The school board will decide on Sept. 29 whether to keep, eliminate or partially eliminate a voluntary rollback currently in place.
"Eliminating or partially eliminating the rollback would raise property taxes. If the board keeps the rollback, the district could lose 175 to 200 staff members."
