"Leawood police said an officer spotted the dog standing in the street several nights ago. It still had a leash attached, but there was no owner around.
"The officer followed the dog about half a block to a home with an open garage.
"That's where he found the homeowner on the floor, unable to get up.
"Police said the resident had been there for more than three hours. The resident is now recovering at home."
