Like it or not, we don't have time for middle-class faux morality and have no problem acknowledging that politicos stirring up animosity against trans people PROVED EFFECTIVE in 2024 . . . However . . . A new war, inflation still rising and a worsening economy on the low-end makes this gambit a bit more obvious and desperate . . . Even if it still might be effective to rally the base against the impending blue wave.
Even better/worse the progressive spin on the trend that might not admit that the Dems are using the same tactic against the smallish number of billionaires and their similarly outsized influence on American elections . . . Here's the word:
A recent Kansas ad targeting Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Adam Hamilton, a United Methodist pastor, shows him standing in front of footage of dancing drag queens and says he “preaches the gospel of woke.”
The ad, one of many using anti-transgender rhetoric to attack Democrats in competitive midterm elections, misleadingly stitches together clips to make the case that Hamilton is out of touch with voters on social issues. When the ad quotes Hamilton saying, “How we define gender… we have a whole array of sexualities,” it is combining separate sentences he said in an interview to create a quote he never said.
