Kansas City Star GoFundMe Begs For Donations After Layoffs

This might make TKC blogging but I'm trying to be a nicer person. 

As TKC "ripens" with age . . . Ewww  . . . We find ourselves attempting to show a bit more compassion, empathy or at least try to offer our understanding. 

But c'mon man . . . 

KANSAS CITY STAR NEWSIES ASKING FOR DONATIONS AFTER LAYOFFS CONFIRMS THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER AS WALKING DEAD!!!

We're not gonna laugh, they have raised more than 3,000 BUCKS so far. Halfway to their goal . . . So forgive us for being a bit salty . . .

Behind the scenes and not so long ago journalists at this institution threatened to boycott any show where TKC was invited as a guest . . . This is the same institution that denounced our writing efforts at every turn and smugly pointed out our many, many typos and frivolity. 

And it's not like we're against online asking . . . Sometimes people need help and that's okay.

But alas . . . We'll try to hold our water and our fire . . . And merely share the ask because the tip for the link actually comes from one of THE VERY BEST PEOPLE WE'VE READ for quite some time and a wonderful soul who also served time at The Star. 

And with all that prelude . . . Here's the word:

"We lost our team of government accountability reporters, journalists who question leaders in Kansas City and suburbs in both Kansas and Missouri.

"At The Star, they have balanced investigating the area's biggest stories — like the Royals and Chiefs stadium negotiations and the FIFA World Cup — while shining a light on the experiences of metro residents.

"These journalists have given their energy and empathy to The Star and its readers, and we want to give back to them."
