Kansas City Stands At 99 Homicides After Deadly Morning Gunfire

The newspaper continues to make up their own numbers that attempt to blame local killings on police.

Meanwhile . . . 

Most Kansas City media work from the "blue sheet" that is confirmed by FBI crime reporting stats at the end of the year . . . Always, we argue is that PEER REVIEWED NUMBERS are more accurate than the Star desperately clinging to their relevance. 

And so . . . Once again . . . We note the contradiction that confronts KCMO . . .

Yes, homicide numbers are lower this year BUT this comes after RECORD BREAKING LEVELS OF DEADLY VIOLENCE on local streets. And, it's likely that KC Mayor Q won't fulfill his pledge to bring homicides below 100 during his two-term tenure.  

Here's the report that police have shared with local media . . . 

Homicide 1600 block of Hardesty 

This morning just after 3:00am officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Hardesty on a shooting call. Callers reported hearing a gunshot in the parking of the apartment building and seeing a shooting victim down on the ground.

On arrival officers were directed to a vehicle in the lot where they located an adult male shooting victim unresponsive down on the ground next to it.

Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived and took over treatment. EMS ultimately declared the victim deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have arrived at the scene and begun their homicide investigation. Crime scene investigators are processing the scene for all available evidence. Detectives are canvassing for any witnesses and talking to people who were at the scene when officers arrived to get a better idea of what circumstances led up to the shooting.

There is not any known suspect information at this time and no one is in custody as of yet.
