Kansas City Serial Killer Trial Jury Deliberates Fredrick Scott's Mental Health

The jury didn't reach a verdict this week . . .

Here's an important passage that puts the conversation in perspective . . .

During closing arguments, Scott’s defense attorney argued that his mental health prevented him from premeditating the killings, a requirement for a first-degree murder conviction. But the defense didn’t present any witnesses to support those claims.

If the jury finds Scott not guilty of first-degree murder, he could still be convicted of second-degree murder or involuntary manslaughter. This applies to all six cases.

Alternatively, he may be found not guilty of the crimes.

Prosecutors likened Scott to a hunter stalking his victims, pointing to similarities in each of the murders.
