Kansas City Northland Homicide Trending?!?

At Labor Day homicide at one of the nicer QT locations shocked residents in this mostly people enclave of Kansas City. 

And today . . . 

We notice another instance of deadly violence as suburban shooting seems to be trending whilst urban core numbers slightly decline.

Here is the report that police are sharing with local media . . .  

Homicide 11000 blk of N McGee

This afternoon just after 1pm officers were dispatched to a residence in the 11000 block of N. McGee on a shooting call. A 911 caller said someone was shot inside a house there. 

On arrival officers were led inside a residence there where they located an adult male shooting victim unresponsive. Officers called for EMS who responded and declared the victim deceased at the scene. 

Responding officers detained one adult subject of interest inside the residence for further investigation. 

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators are at the scene now processing the scene and talking with people who were at the scene when officers arrived. This case is being investigated as a homicide. 

Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and one or more other subjects were inside the residence when they had an interaction that escalated to gunfire, which struck the victim. 

Detectives are not searching for any additional suspects at this time. 

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.
