Kansas City Newsies Push Blue Wave Hope

We feel like it's part of our "mission" on this blog to share just a bit of skepticism in the midst of so much political hype from "many sides" of the discourse. 

Our local leaders claim that EPIC borrowing will spark a local renaissance and just a few pointed questions identify their flawed logic. 

Our conservative friends seemingly think that the world at war will bring about an "American Golden Age" whilst we merely note that the national debt is currently rising at a comparable or even faster annualized pace than it did under Prez Joe Biden, recently surpassing the historic 40 trillion dollar milestone.

And now local progressives are doing their best to hype the impending "Blue Wave" in Kansas for the midterms whilst we question if the rising tide will float local boats.

Consider . . .   

Newsweek says Senator Marshall still holds his lead by a narrow margin. 

Meanwhile . . . In fairness . . .

A Kansas City Pulitzer winner and legendary local newsman Dave Helling proclaim victory after state fair debate success.  

We don't claim to know the future . . . And so we respectfully serve to merely quote this local exuberance from "KC Stack" which might or might not be irrational . . .   

"I lost count of the number of times Republican Ty Masterson called Democrat Cindy Holscher “the most radical, liberal socialist who’s ever been on a ticket in Kansas” at Saturday morning’s gubernatorial debate at the Kansas State Fair, where this was his answer for pretty much everything."

And then this on the Kansas U.S. Senate debate . . . 

"On style and substance, points and just plain old talking like a person, the Kansas Democratic senatorial nominee Adam Hamilton so completely — and effortlessly, it seemed — dominated the Republican incumbent U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall in their Saturday debate at the Kansas State Fair that we almost felt sorry for the man the crowd taunted with shouts of “You don’t live here!” Almost.
