Kansas City Mayor Q Shares Hopeful 2026 Homicide Count Update

For those who are sleepy on the cloudy Sunday . . . . Here's the main point of this post: 

MAYOR Q SPINS HIS LAST YEAR IN OFFICE THAT WILL COUNT OVER 100 HOMICIDES DESPITE HIS UNKEPT PROMISE!!!

To be fair . . .

Yes, lower homicide numbers are a good thing. 

HOWEVER . . .

Let's not forget these lower numbers are coming off RECORD HIGHS for homicides over Mayor Q's tenure.

Nevertheless . . . 

Here's the more optimistic take on local crime progress or lack thereof . . .

"As of today, Kansas City stands at 96 homicides thus far in 2026.  That is compared to 117 at this point in 2025; 116 at this point in 2024; and 141 at this point in 2023."
