Kansas City Faith Blogger Condemns U.S. Response After 9/11

Longtime Kansas City newsman Bill Tammeus remains a leading local author on the topic of faith & morals and today he shares an important perspective as the 25th anniversary of an American tragedy confronts us all . . . Here's our main takeaway from his latest column:

"If our government repeatedly failed to understand why such terrorism kept happening, did it use the 9/11 attacks finally to create a reasonable, effective response? No. In fact, despite official language suggesting that we Americans wanted and would work for peace, our government instead relied mostly on more violence — imprudent, vacuous wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere, somehow imagining that our violence would stop their violence . . .

"Those of us in a 9/11 family can expect no justice. It’s already too late for my sister Barbara, whose son, Karleton Fyfe, perished as a passenger on the first plane to smash into the World Trade Center."
