Remember back a bit . . .
This project was debuted with an OUTRIGHT LIE propagated by several council members that taxpayers weren't supporting the sketchy deal that also benefits BILLIONAIRES.
Here's a worthwhile rundown . . .
"The proposed funding commitment is about $50 million less than the city was authorized to provide the women's soccer team. It also includes a commitment from the team and its developers to cover the city's bond debt if tax revenue falls short of paying for it . . . The Current's developers told city officials in June that the team is seeking public financing to expand its stadium, build a new parking structure and improve infrastructure for the mixed-use development. The plan would add about 6,500 seats to the stadium, bringing its total capacity to 18,000 seats."
