Kansas 'Citizens Only' Voting Double Down

Actually, only citizens are allowed to vote anyhoo . . . But this bit of legislation lets everybody know that politicos REALLY mean it . . . 

Reality check: In conservative media this issue has been gaining traction amid outcry over New Jersey software errors and some recent arrests. 

Here's the word: 

The Citizen Only Voting Amendment (COVA) will rephrase existing language in the Kansas constitution, stating only U.S. citizens have the right to vote in local, state and federal elections in Kansas.

“I actually hope this will increase turnout, that people will be motivated by the opportunity to say with one voice--loud and clear--to the Kansas courts that ‘No,’ only U.S. citizens should be able to vote in our elections,” said State Rep. Pat Proctor, the Republican candidate running for Secretary of State.
