"On Thursday, a Jackson County judge found Kansas City Police Officer Chris Showalter guilty of fourth-degree misdemeanor assault for driving his knee into the neck of a handcuffed man. In announcing her verdict, Circuit Judge Jalilah Otto found the state proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt. Sentencing is set for Oct. 29."
