Jackson County Exec LeVota Confronts Garza Discrimination Case

Unfortunately . . . Raytown power player and former denizen of the Legislature Theresa Garza is the least of his problems right now . . . 

Still, here's a quick summary of her legal fight and one more sign that courthouse cleanup isn't coming any time soon . . . 

"Garza’s complaint accused LeVota of discriminatory treatment, a hostile work environment and other claims, such as being excluded from her job duties. She asked the county for an investigation and protection from future retaliation while the process played out. LeVota responded days later with his own letter, denying the allegations, criticizing Garza’s performance and accusing her of trying to build a case for a lawsuit. 

"The dispute quietly unfolded while LeVota was under federal investigation. He was federally indicted in July on allegations that he offered a county job to a political candidate in exchange for dropping out of the race for county executive. LeVota would later claim that the individual, who was unnamed in the indictment, was Jackson County Legislator DaRon McGee. LeVota has denied the allegations from the indictment."
