Country Club Plaza Stays Losing Cupcakes After Lease Dispute

Big picture about this Kansas City bittersweet news . . . 

This departure kinda signals that new Plaza owners aren't really serious incorporating local small biz into their plans. It was a delightful local shop and CLEARLY the rents are too damn high in this luxury district to keep a quaint place like this one.

"After so many years of cupcakes, celebrations, friendships and wonderfully sweet memories, unfortunately, Cupcake A La Mode will be ceasing operations on the Country Club Plaza.

"We were unable to reach an agreement on a new lease for our current location, and our final day will be Saturday, September 26.
We have loved being part of your birthdays, weddings, first dates, family traditions and those random Tuesdays that simply needed a cupcake.

"So before we turn out the lights, we want to have one last sweet celebration on the plaza.
Come see us. Bring the kids. Grab your favorite flavor one more time. Take a dozen to the office. And if Cupcake A La Mode has been part of one of your memories, we would absolutely love to see you before we go."
