Commuter students at UMKC don’t get anything close to a traditional college experience, mainly because the school doesn’t try.
The choice to be a commuter student at any school isn’t an easy one, but for most students, it’s the financial choice that is the breaking point of them going to college.
According to U.S. News, in 2024 only 7% of UMKC’s students lived on campus. So naturally, you’d think that UMKC would do everything they can to foster connection, right?
Not necessarily.
