Aftermath Ermahgerd: Intersection Shooting Shocks Lee's Summit

First, let's review what we know so far . . . 

On Missouri Highway 291 at Chipman Road in Lee's Summit, Missouri, around 10:50 a.m. on September 2, 2026, four suspects wearing dark clothing jumped out of a vehicle and fired multiple shots into a maroon car stopped at a red light.

Two people were taken to a local hospital. The driver suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and a second person was hurt by shattered glass. Police used witness accounts and Flock automated license plate readers to identify the suspect vehicle as a dark gray Ford F-150 pickup truck with a California vanity license plate.

Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated, targeted event between individuals who knew each other, rather than a random act of violence. 

And here are just a few reasons why this spate of gunfire has SHOCKED the metro . . . 

The intersection is in the heart of an otherwise peaceful community that rarely witnesses that level of violence IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. 

Video of the shooting reveals what sounded like automatic gunfire and a level of firepower that is never seen in this peaceful enclave. 

The "targeted event" is a nice euphemism for a "hit" in what is clearly organized crime . . . Something that is completely unfamiliar in Lee's Summit.   

We're not making fun . . . The lady who bravely shared here recording as she cried "ermahgerd" pretty much nails the local reaction.
