Activist Justice Horn Questions JaxCo Prosecutor After Plea Deal

A scathing perspective from a local activist questions local courthouse leadership and experience.

Here's the word from a recent social media post: 

"As someone who’s previously served on the County Prosecutor’s Community Advisory Board (not under this prosecutor), we would’ve pushed for the courtroom—and a judge—to be the place for accountability. Not a deal with a baby killer. We would’ve also shared that a plea with a baby killer would’ve gotten community pushback. 

"But this leads to a vital point: trial experience matters. When you have a prosecutor who doesn’t have a lot of experience taking cases to trial, then you’re going to see a lot more plea deals—even in cases where justice isn’t just expected, but required.
 
"It makes you think: If they don’t take the easy cases to trial, what are they doing with the hard ones?"
