"Kansas City bus riders are getting a temporary reprieve after city leaders approved new funding to prevent major service cuts.

"The extra $8.3 million lets the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority keep its current bus network in place through April instead of dropping nine lines and trimming service on four more, maintaining trips many residents use every day. This is the fourth time since 2025 that budget problems have pushed the agency toward service reductions."
