It has been a banner year for BILLIONAIRES by way of Kansas City generosity.

The bigger question . . .

WILL THIS CLANDESTINE PUBLIC HOUSING SCHEME WORK TO SAVE THE PLAZA?!?

You read that right . . . 

What local news FAILS to tell KC readers and why this blog continues to garner readers after all these years is that today we're the only outlet to remind locals that Mayor Q is on record saying that he wants "affordable" housing options and low-income options to play a major role in Plaza redevelopment. And THAT is why so many power players have abandoned area and might be a big part of why Lockton pulled out as well.

Either way . . .  

Here's the latest slap-in-the-face to the low-end . . .

"Port KC approved billions in bonds and significant tax breaks for the Country Club Plaza during the board’s Monday meeting.

"Bonds not to exceed 1.49 billion will be issued to Gillon Property Group, the developers of the shopping district. Additionally, the developers will receive real and personal property exemption, as well as sales tax exemption."
