Show-Me Mizzou Warning Against Downtown Columbia Danger

Here's a sign of a new world for the Midwest . . . College towns now confront rising "urbanism" as university officials warn of danger . . . Here's the word . . .  

"Some areas of downtown Columbia should be avoided at night, specifically sections of Walnut Street between 8th and 10th streets," the email said. It also urged students to return home before midnight, and claimed most incidents happen between then and 3 a.m.

This is the latest in a series of attempts by UM System President Mun Choi to call attention to safety in downtown Columbia.
