Like some circle of hell described by Dante . . . This abandoned development in Kansas City continues to burn . . .
Actually . . . It's kinda like the "tire fire" from The Simpsons . . . Wherein the Springfield Tire Yard is a massive, unending pile of old tires that has been burning continuously for decades. No matter how many times it is put out, buried, or forgotten, it always starts burning again, serving as a permanent symbol of the town's endless dysfunction.
Our local version . . .
"Crews were called to the Olive Park Village Apartments at 8th Street and Olive Street just before 9 a.m.
"Upon arrival, smoke and fire were visible from the vacant apartment complex. Downtown residents could also see the heavy smoke and flames from the extensive blaze."
