"The state is now reporting 1,950 cyclosporiasis cases, an increase from last week’s number of 1,577.
"The illness stems from cyclospora, a microscopic, spherical parasite that commonly causes watery diarrhea “with frequent and sometimes explosive bowel movements,” according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."
