History tells us that she's likely the next exec as we could soon enter ONE OF THE MOST HILARIOUS ERAS IN JACKSON COUNTY HISTORY.
The reality is that she doesn't have a lot of support amongst Dems, she'll be outnumbered and confront a great deal of opposition on the Legislature and, even worse, her tax fighter friends might turn on her amid quite a few tough decisions confronting the courthouse in the next year.
Bright side . . . Everything she says is actually really hopeful and if she's able to accomplish half of it, voters would be lucky. Also, after the disastrous tenure of Exec Frank White, locals have extremely low expectations of this office.
Our only concern is that there isn't any evidence that her team understands the hundreds of compromises they'll have to make in order to prevent outright rebellion and her mandate is limited at best.
As always, we share more hopeful reporting . . .
"Lake's campaign focused on a seven-point plan to get the county back on track. The JACKSON Plan stands for justice system reform, auditing the county government, county-wide infrastructure improvements, keeping taxes and utilities affordable, small business rejuvenation, ownership initiative for single-family households, and a neighbor-to-neighbor transportation plan to connect cities together, per her website."
