KC Confronts High School Football Practice Heat Stroke Danger

Let's start with a truism for this time of year . . . 

MOST HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL COACHES ARE TOTAL MORONS!!!

Of course . . . 

It gives us a great deal of joy to type that statement but it also serves the public trust in order to remind parents that second guessing coaches is a proud local tradition and might even help keep youngsters safe.

Accordingly . . .

This report didn't get a lot of traction but it brings up an important point that's often overlooked until tragedy strikes . . . Check-it:  

Since 2018, four college and one high school linemen have died in Kansas from heat-related illnesses. So far this summer, high school linemen in Arkansas and Louisiana have been severely sickened by exertional heat stroke.

High school football practice is ramping up in Kansas and Missouri as the hottest part of the summer sets in.

As football season approaches, two national organizations last week called on coaches to change practices to prevent exertional heatstroke in linemen.
