Homicide 28th and Wabash
This afternoon, just after 1 PM, patrol officers were dispatched to 28th and Wabash on a reported shooting.
As officers arrived they located an adult female victim, in the street, suffering from gunshot wounds. KCFD EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
This is being investigated as a homicide. A subject of interest was taken into custody by responding officers. The preliminary investigation revealed there was an altercation between multiple individuals in the street prior to shots being fired and the victim being struck.
Detectives and crime scene technicians are on scene canvassing for witnesses, reviewing surveillance footage, and recovering any physical evidence.

Woman shot, killed near East 28th Street, Wabash Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department responded to a fatal shooting Thursday afternoon in the area of East 28th Street and Wabash Avenue.
Kansas City police believe argument took deadly turn, ended in woman's death
Police found the woman's body in the street near 28th and Wabash in Kansas City.
