Kansas City Westside Homeless Camps Spruce Up Summer 2026

And now we look at the weirdness of the Kansas City real estate market at what is likely the conclusion of the local selling season . . .

Recently, TKC readers have sent more than a few messages our way about a prominent and exponentially expanding homeless camp at the intersection of the Westside, West Bottoms and just a quick walk from the hipster bridge party place.

Here's the punchline . . .

Just a few blocks up there are MILLION DOLLAR KANSAS CITY HOMES FOR SALE and one of the most vibrant areas for development in all of the Midwest.

Not so long from now . . . Like it or not, our www.TonysKansasCity.com best guess it that there will be a baseball stadium within 10 minutes of this camping ground.

To be fair, this camping site is nothing new . . . The location has been active with homeless encampments for at least twenty years.

Typically, harsher weather pushes the camps deeper into the nearby woods.

What's new is the nearby real estate scheming at record prices.

Somewhere in all this might be a place where nicer people fret about "affordability" and the K-shaped economy that, from our perspective, really looks more like the eternal struggle betwixt have and have nots that humans have been trying to figure out since we were clubbing one another to death for the best spot at a watering hole in the Great Rift Valley.

Developing . . .
