A 2025 study by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce found Kansas City exports about $4 billion in goods to Canada each year, including vehicles, plastics, chemicals and agricultural products. Andrew DiCapua, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s principal economist, said the impacts of the trade war will grow the longer they are in place. “Essentially, the cost of an automobile, the longer these tariffs stay in place, is just only going to go up,” DiCapua said. “We’re raising costs on ourselves.”
