Kansas City Saves Westside Cantina After World Cup Disappointment

Late summer feel-good story that shows a great deal of support from across the metro worked way better than world cup hype in order to keep a beloved local place alive . . . Check-it: 

She decided to ask the community directly for help through social media. Her post seen by thousands, asking her community to stop by Lilly's and taste recipes passed down through generations.

“My pride was in the way for a long time because I just knew I could get out of it,” she said. “But I needed help.”

Kansas City answered. Customers began pouring into Lilly’s Cantina. Catering orders increased. Tables once sitting empty started filling with both new customers and longtime regulars.
