Kansas City Royals Owner Sherman Steps All Over Crown Center Residents

A worthwhile newspaper column recently appeared from beyond the paywall and deserves a peek for those who haven't seen it yet and need a reminder of how little the Royals care about anybody living in and around the loop . . . Check-it: 

Since it was built in the mid-1970s, the San Francisco has appealed to prominent attorneys, business executives, financially comfortable retirees and others drawn by its sweeping views, manicured grounds and rare sense of seclusion in the middle of the city.

Those condo dwellers aren’t the kinds of people who are used to being shut out of civic conversations. Yet that’s exactly how many of them describe their relationship with Crown Center and the Royals as plans for a new downtown stadium advance.

“There’s been basically no acknowledgement from Crown Center or the Royals that we even exist,” said Dave Byrn, a retired Jackson County judge who’s lived at the San Francisco for eight years, “even though we would literally be on the doorstep of this development. You walk out our front door, and you’d be at the baseball stadium.”
