What makes us cry out to the Almighty in vain . . . She won the highest honor in journalism and yet she's still slugging it out on some low-rent Substack that only a few people read.
Meanwhile, smarter people tell us to check out Melinda Henneberger's latest update that may or may not be accurate but certainly won't change any votes . . .
"I’m now convinced that this flyer, which was odious for reasons having nothing to do with Naumann’s quote, was sent without his approval. Even in the anything-goes days before an election, that’s unheard of — outlaw, and not in a good way.
"The thing that was so upsetting about the mailer was the impression that Naumann could possibly, after all the Catholic Church has been through, not see that falsely accusing the Kansas Supreme Court of enabling child predators would reopen some wounds in those of us who may never fully recover from the fact that so many of our bishops actually did enable child predators.
"But I don’t think he was aware of that language, and hope he will distance himself from it . . ."
