Kansas City Police Investigate Homicide Along Streetcar Extension Line

Our midtown denizens are far more mobile than they've been in the past and we might want to consider this reality as far as entertainment options go for night owls and bar flies. 

Accordingly . . . Despite a significant drop in homicides this year . . . Deadly gunfire remains an ongoing concern for Kansas City. And so, here's the latest report police share with local media . . . Check-it:  

Homicide 3900 block of Main

Right around 11:45 PM officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of Main on a reported shooting.

Officers arrived on scene and were summoned to a nearby business where they located an adult male victim inside suffering from apparent gunshot trauma and unresponsive. Officers performed life-saving measures until EMS responded and transported the victim to an area hospital. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased by hospital staff.

There is not currently any preliminary information indicating what transpired prior to the shooting. An adult male subject of interest is believed to have left the area on foot prior to police arrival. We do not currently have anyone in police custody.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded to the scene to begin collecting evidence and gathering witness statements. This incident is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.

KCPD: one man shot and killed at a business in the 3900 block of Main

Kansas City, Missouri Police are investigating a homicide in the 3900 block of Main. No one is in custody.

Late night shooting leaves one man dead, detectives looking for clues

Just before midnight KCPD officers were sent to the area of 39th and Main Street to investigate a shooting.
