Kansas City Life Lesson: ALWAYS Second Guess Security Guards

Most of us don't have problems with people wearing uniforms because we want nothing more out of life than cheap food and easy passage to do our work. 

However . . .

Problems sometimes arise for even the most cautious of travels and so we remind readers . . .

SECURITY GUARDS ARE NOT COPS & IT'S OKAY TO QUESTION THEIR ORDERS!!!

 Accordingly . . .

We pulled this nightmarish story out of a compilation with the warning that the deets are nasty, shocking and not for the easily triggered but serve to remind us that not everybody who wears a badge is a hero and certainly not the ones who take advantage of people who are detained . . . Check-it:  

Both women say they were stopped and detained by SUSPECT while he was working as a security officer for U.S. Protective Service, a privately owned security company operating in the Kansas City metro.

- Jane Doe 1 alleges Wells stopped her near 8th St. and Benton Blvd. on Aug. 1, 2023, after she took a recycling bin to carry her belongings. According to the suit, Wells handcuffed her, lifted her shirt and pulled out the waistband of her pants to look inside, then forced her to perform sexual acts on him behind a nearby building before letting her go.

- Jane Doe 2 alleges Wells and another security officer detained her and a friend near 10th and Benton on July 9, 2023, telling her she was going to jail. According to the petition, Wells eventually drove her alone to a Waffle House parking lot, where he raped her. 

Both lawsuits claim he used his position - including his uniform, marked patrol vehicle and authority over the women - to facilitate the assaults.
