Kansas City Domestic Shooting Kills Woman

Tragically, this is the third homicide in KCMO so far this week as the traditional late summer violence surge ramps up . . . Here is the report that police are sharing with local media:

Homicide 5600 block of Agnes

This morning just before 7am officers were dispatched to a house in the 5600 block of Agnes on a shooting call.

On arrival officers were directed inside to an adult female shooting victim there who was unresponsive. Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived and took over treatment.

EMS transported the victim to the hospital where she was declared deceased.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators are at the scene now processing for evidence and talking to people that were at the scene when officers arrived.

Preliminary investigation indicates the victim had an interaction with another person inside the residence that led to gunfire which struck the victim.

The suspect then left the scene in an unknown direction.

Detectives believe the victim and suspect are known to each other and detectives are making headway identifying and locating that subject at this time.

If anyone was in this area and heard or saw anything or has any information, and has not yet talked to police, they are asked to contact Homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.
