Kansas City Bungles Bruce R. Watkins Drive Again?!?

Local have EVERY REASON to doubt recent efforts to fix 71 . . . Last time around community leaders imposed stoplights on the highway that facilitated untold misery, death and hazard for millions of drivers.

This time . . .

Of course, local media and politicos are more hopeful . . . Take a peek:  

"The city is working to undo the harm caused by the highway, which workers completed in 2001.

"The proposed remedies are coming through the Reconnecting the East Side project, financed with a $5 million federal grant secured by U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II, who is currently in his tenth term representing Missouri’s 5th Congressional District.

"Kansas City is leading the effort in partnership with the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Mid-America Regional Council.

"The project is in phase one right now. "
