Ivan Foley Sells Platte County Landmark After 44 Years

End of an era for our Northland friends . . .

The era at its end??? Dead-Tree media.  

What Kansas City media watchers are witnessing this summer with the demise of the The Call & the sale of the Landmark is that even small community newspapers can't earn a buck, at least not for single owner/operators.

"This edition of The Landmark is the final one for current owners Ivan and Linda Foley, who have sold Platte County’s most-established newspaper.

"The ownership change takes effect Sept. 1. That date will mark the retirement of Ivan Foley from the newspaper business, which has included 44 years at The Landmark."
