The Fort Osage School District will continue to pursue legal action against Jackson County over a series of policies that aim to retroactively lower homeowners’ and businesses’ property tax bills, which the district says will destabilize their budget without adequate recourse. It is continuing to seek damages on its own after the Independence School District withdrew its parallel efforts.
