Downtown Kansas City 'Momentum' Exposes Infinite Money Glitch?!?

We we witness the end of summer on the horizon, once again we realize how words and ideas shape our reality more than anyone would care to admit.

To wit, our Monday question is one of economics, social engineering and snark . . .  

IS DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY "MOMENTUM" JUST ANOTHER WORD FOR "REFLEXIVITY" IN ACTION?!?

For the uninitiated . . .  

The theory of reflexivity states that investor perceptions actively shape economic fundamentals, creating a continuous two-way feedback loop that drives markets toward disequilibrium rather than balance.  

Translation . . . 

Money might be nothing more than hype.

This is also known as the Greater Fool Theory and it's the world's second oldest profession that ALWAYS leaves somebody, usually taxpayers, holding the bag.

Nevertheless . . . In this era of the rug pull online and everywhere else . . . Here's our downtown infinite loop talking point . . .   

"Downtown Kansas City is undergoing the next phase in its historic transformation which has been fueled by more than $10.8 billion since 2000.

"Today there is ongoing investment of an additional $2.6 billion and over $8 billion in planned projects in the next 5 years. This surge of growth is rooted in the philosophy that “Downtown is for People,” focusing on the creation of a dense, walkable, mixed-use environment that attracts a diverse tapestry of users and fosters human connection."

Meanwhile . . .

As downtown Kansas City experiences a massive wave of taxpayer investment, critics argue this rapid revitalization creates a stark economic divide. They contend that heavily subsidizing luxury apartments, entertainment districts, and transit downtown diverts vital tax revenues and resources away from historically underserved neighborhoods. Consequently, many residents feel that basic infrastructure, affordable housing, and community services in the rest of the city are being neglected to fund a centralized showcase.
