"According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City's latest Services Survey, the Tenth District services composite index fell sharply to -3 in August 2026 from 14 in July, signaling a shift into contractionary territory. This decline was driven by notable pullbacks in sector sales and employment alongside cooling expectations for future demand."
