"Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway’s office on Thursday defended its decision to sue Kansas City over a contracting program using a plaintiff who had pleaded guilty to paying bribes for contracts years ago.
Hanaway’s defense came a day after she filed a lawsuit against the city alleging its programs designed to help women- and minority-owned businesses discriminate against men and white people. Hanaway brought the suit alongside Charles Cacioppo Jr., the owner of Industrial Salvage & Wrecking Co. Inc. in Kansas City, who alleges his company lost city contracts due to its programs."
