"Gov. Mike Kehoe signed a memorandum of understanding with the Federal Permitting Council, making Missouri part of a program called FAST-41. The signing took place at the Callaway Nuclear Power Plant Wednesday morning. Missouri joins Alaska, Idaho, Tennessee and Utah in the agreement with the Federal Permitting Council.

"The federal program is designed to streamline the authorization process for large-scale infrastructure projects by eliminating bureaucratic redundancy in the federal approval process. Kehoe said the agreement could speed up project approval by several years."
