Actually . . . The Kansas City talker does an EXCELLENT job of breaking down upcoming concerns. 

Here's a peek at his weekend missive for those who didn't see it . . . 

"The stage is being set for 1 of 2 things: 1) Increase the size of the STAR bond district (only way to make the math work) 2) Justify the state of Kansas backing the bonds.

"There is a third option: When do they set the base year of the STAR bonds? It’s a little more in the weeds, but it’s another tool in the tool box to re-direct taxpayer monies to the project that otherwise shouldn’t be re-directed. 

"Now the Olathe part of this project isn’t as offensive as the broader stadium deal itself. But the notion that we should accept the team’s, state’s and city’s projections and numbers, without asking reasonably tough questions, is not how this process should go."
